BxC Restorative Justice
Conflict happens. It's a normal part of everyday human existence and completely natural. At Bronx Compass, we adhere to five values to help us navigate the day-to-day interactions of school. Our values are Positive Attitude, Ownership, Respect, Commitment and Safety. When (inevitably) someone transgresses those values, we use our Restorative Justice System to make things right again.
Get help with a non-emergency student issue by submitting an RJ referral
What Happens when a referral is sent?
Members of the RJ Staff meet every morning at 9AM and assign each referral. An RJ team member will be assigned to investigate the infraction. The team member will email the student's advisor and connect with the student and may contact the referring teacher for clarification. A restorative or punitive course will be chosen, depending on the infraction and the student. The referring teacher should be contacted within 2 school days with an update or resolution.
